About Our School

Aptos Junior High School serves 600 seventh and eighth grade students in Pajaro Valley Unified School District. The attendance zone for AJHS is in the greater Aptos area, but many students attend from outside the normal enrollment zone through open enrollment. 

AJHS offers a range of exciting activities including Athletics, Drama, Band, Choir, Computer coding, California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF), and more!

In the summer of 2018, AJHS was the recipient of a major construction project funded through local bond measures that included the construction of eight brand new classrooms, new landscaping, and new blacktop for our athletics area.
